The Story
These bench dog horizontal clamps are perfect for custom bench top clamping. The low profile design gives a projection of only 15mm above the worksurface, which is useful when routing, sanding or planing on your workbench. They can be used for surface clamping or to mount to timber to create bar clamps, they are perfect for jigs and are great at clamping odd and curved shapes. Two can be used in conjunction to clamp boards from either side or they can be used together with traditional bench dogs to clamp wide boards or cross grain work.
The construction is basically a steel bench dog that has a threaded bar running through the centre, the bar has a brass clamping jaw at one end that is tightened by a chrome vanadium spanner at the other. The brass clamping jaw is non-marring as well as being hard-wearing and durable.
The clamps can be used anywhere a 20mm hole can be drilled or in existing holes on workbenches. ©
